Recently I decided to purchase a Cipa Extreme (http://www.overtons.com/cgi-bin/overtons/order/large.cgi?33592) mirror, and I must confess, it rocks! I spent the weekend on a slalom course in Winter Haven FL and was able to see the skier from buoy to buoy with this monster! My first experience with this mirror was with my wife's disabled ski coach's boat. I became enamored with it and got one for myself. If you ski on a regular basis and run the course, I highly recommend it! Today I was training new skiers and loved how no matter what happened I could keep an eye on them as they skied at all times. It doesn't come cheap, but if you take your skiing and driving seriously, you will find that you won't want to do without it.

Gordon, Where did you mount the mirror. I finally mounted my "Stock" mirror after a year of owning the boat this weekend and can't figure out the best place. The damn hing is so big.

Both my mirrors have been mounted on the left side of the right windshield frame (see picture (http://home.earthlink.net/~fastsk8r/Photos/cipaextreme.jpg)). As you can see by the photo my extreme is quite a bit larger than the factory original. but I am quite pleased with it and will be keeping this one for a long time to come. I did have to remove the outer cap with the phillips head screw and the phillips head screw at the joint of the windshield on the outer end by the pass-thru to get both mirrors on without fear of damage. It was a tight fit for both.

speaking of mirrors, you guys seen the tower mount mirrors for sale anywhere? I can't find one. They look like a much more convenient and out of the way deal.

I have seen them in use mostly on wakeboard boats. I haven't personally used one yet to turn me on to it. The Cipa Extreme I used on a friends barefoot boat and loved it. If I drive a boat equipped with a tower mount mirror, I will let you know. I drive a lot of different boats and have learned what I like over time, slowly adding these things to mine.

I just purchased a boom from Bemman in Winter Haven after teaching beginning skiers in another boat that was equipped with one. I liked it a lot better than the Barefoot International ones I have used. Once I get it on and use it, I will post some photos of it here again. The thing I liked most about it was it had a handle attached to the end of the boom so that instead of having to grab a thick boom rod, they just grabbed a small metal handle that fit their hands much better.
