Anyone have any experience with the Masterline Monster slalom mainline with perfect pass? I just ordered one, $59.00 from Barts. Wondering how well it will hold up. My last two..."Proline and Straightline" both have frayed. <--- Not happy with those two ropes. Any inputs would be great.

I have two ropes, one Masterline and one Straightline. The Masterline was an excellent rope with limited stretch. When my wife moved to disabled competition, she bought a Straightline and didn't like it. She skied on my Masterline one time and I lost it permanently. 3 years later it is still in service (and that doesn't include the year that I put it to use) and was used in a Nationals competition this last week in MN. I now ski on the Straightline and will have to retire it due to the fact that it is fraying. Since I am no longer using the Masterline, I can't attest to the reason for the difference. I can say I put a lot more stress on a rope than my wife ( I am skiing at speeds in excess of 28 mph on a single ski through the full course while she is skiing at 18 - 24 on two skis through mid) and it could be due to the pressure extremes I put on it. I am not sure any rope will hold that kind of pressure for an extended time. But I can tell you that I am buying a new rope and handle before a competition coming up and it will be Masterline. Unfortunately, longevity will only be established with time.
