Wife ran over ski rope at dusk way out in Tahoe. Had a knife BUT couldn't see well under water or hold my breath long enough to get it untangled from the prop. Had to get towed home after very slow paddling for 30 min. Amazing how fast that little manouver can disable your boat.

The next morning I used a six foot hose to breath through and a diving mask and had it taken care of in about a minute. Sure wish I had those two items on the boat at the time!

I have found that a real sharp fish fillet knife will cut the rope free from the prop in no time. I did have to go under water about 6 times to do it.

Good tip on the hose for breathing, thanks.

"My lake" is presently so dark, the mask would be useless...Waterboy even had the beaches closed due to the dark water.

Hey! If I had that much authority, I'd use it to control what some folks on the beach are wearing.....like the fat guys wearing Speedos.
