I second the Perfect Pass. The only other thing you might want to consider are the pop-up cleats.

I think the CE has to do with canadian certification.

Perfect pass is worth every cent no matter what your skill level.

Add tower speakers, snap on covers and a heater.

Here are some things that I believe are a MUST have in a new boat

Snap-in carpet, Perfect Pass, Pop-up cleats, Tower (of course),Wakeboard racks, 3-bag ballast system, snap-on Cockpit and Bow covers, bimini, and the wakeplate.

Well, the wake plate leaves something to be desired. But the Perfect Pass is a huge plus in my boat. I only use it for good wakeboarders and slalom skiers. But in those times it is priceless.

A quick look at my statement against the wake plate. I have had some problems with my boat motor and during that time frame I was driving a Supra Launch with a wake plate and ballast system. A word of advice, if you want a great wake, stick with the ballast and zero the wake plate. If you are a slalom skier, zero the wake plate and ballast. The wake plate on the Supra Launch created a totally bizarre wake that no one liked, not even my wakeboarders and kneeboarders! But zero that sucker and load the ballast and everyone was happy except the slalom skiers! All I had to do to make them happy was zero everything and the Supra Launch wake was just shy of a good Nautique at 28 mph and up.

Now here is a word of encouragement for the Supra. Two weekends ago I was teaching a clinic in SW Florida and my first run out was behind a brand new Nautique. At 22 mph it had the strangest wake I have ever come across! It sank in the middle some 3 - 4 inches, making the skier not only go up and over the wake, but down into a trough before heading to the next wake. The Supra on the other hand, had nothing like this. Even at 18 mph with a trick kneeboarder on the back, if the wake plate and sacs were zeroed, the wake was almost non-existant. In fact, the kneeboarder who skied behind the boat complained about the lack of wake without the ballast in use! They preferred my Outback! As soon as I sculpted the wake with the fat sacs, they got a big ole smile on their face and had a great time.

First, let me say that Gordon has always been right on with his postings. But, I have to say, based on all postings here and on wakeworld, Gordon's is the absolute first that had any bad things to say about the wake plate. I have found the wake plate to be absolutely invaluable for helping get the boat on plane heavily loaded and for fine tuning the wake shape. Go with it.

Keep in mind that opinions are like rearends, everyone has one and they all stink, mine included. I can see how the wake plate will help getting a loaded boat on plane, but no one in my boat during that test liked what the wake plate did to the Supra. Now mind you, the Supra is a different hull than the Mobius and Outback. I haven't skied or boarded behind one of those with a wake plate yet, so I can't attest to them. I can only attest to what I experienced. So I am not saying whether it is right or wrong to have one, just make darn sure you drive the boat you are buying with it and ski and board behind it and test the wake plate first. I wasn't all that impressed. Let's put it this way, my Outback is still in the garage! When I was asked what I thought about it (the dealer touted the wake plate pretty heavily), I was honest.

I think though that maybe I should qualify my statement about the wake plate. I took the first set behind the Supra on a KD Evolution at 34 mph. I did two wake crossings and threw the handle. My driver thought he screwed something up. I told him that if we couldn't get the wake straight that I wasn't skiing behind that boat. We figured out that with the wake plate in the 1/4 down position he had it in, it would create a plateau about 3 feet across instead of the usual double-tiered wake. This made crossing at 34 mph on a slalom ski a real mother of a task. As we dropped the wake plate down, it would spread the wake apart and drop the center, but the top of the wake was flat instead of the usual curl one would expect from a wake. At the full up position the wake flattened out and the curls that were there had the normal curl that one is used to.

Our kneeboarder and wakeboarder didn't like the wake plate wake at all in any position. Both griped that the curl was too flat at the top for good pop. With the wake plate full up, the wake was almost non-existent, which they liked even less.

All of these observations could be hull specific (and probably are). The great thing about the wake plate is if you don't like how it works, just put in the full up position and turn on the ballast. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose by actually having it on there. Except of course money. As for me, if I ever buy a Supra Launch, it will be sans wake plate.

First I would like to say that everyone is entitled to there own opinion. And this post is not to start a verbal fight or anything like that.

As for the wakeplate, he said that he was going to be buying his boat at the boat show this January. If you buy from a boat show they usually give you 3 or 4 add-ons (or upgrades if you will) for free. The wakeplate has been one of those upgrades in the past and I figure if you can get an $800 upgrade for free why not.

I would also like to say that the Snap-in carpet is also a big plus. I really enjoy keeping everything in my boat clean and in the best condition possible. And after going to the lake you often get sand and stuff on the carpt and it is really nice to be able to take it out and vaccum it out of the boat just makes it on heck of a lot easier.

But as i stated before this is all just opinion, and i hope it all helps in choosing your new boat.
