6 Days From Christmas And Still Skiing

Well, here it is 6 days from Christmas and what did I do today? Went waterskiing. I have now graduated to a full suit, having relegated the shorty and neoprene shorts to the closet a couple of weeks ago. We had a cold spell that dropped the lake temps pretty quick, forcing the early retirement of the other suits. We now have freeze warnings for the next two days that will probably reduce the water temps even more. But I will continue to ski on any day I can until I leave for my snow ski trip. Then as soon as I return I will head right back out on the lake and continue with my waterskiing. Anyone else out there still skiing or boarding?

I was out there this weekend. Stepped up to the dry suit about a month ago. If you havent tried one, you should no comparison with a wet suit...soooo niiiice.


Of course installing a heater in the boat helped out a bit too!

What do you do about your ears and forehead? I find cold water + windchill effect them the worst.

Suck it up and tough it out!!! ;) It also helps to have a hot tub at your immediate disposal once finished! :p

Well down here last time I went it was about 68 air and 52 water, the week before that it was 75/59. So even though I'm a wimp about the cold its not that bad. I must say that the heater option was the best upgrade I've ever done.

For your head and ears you can buy a swimmer's neoprene headband for about 5 bucks that'll make a world of difference. Just do a search on Yahoo and you should be able to find one with no problem.

My wife and I both use them religiously on cold days. Makes a huge difference. I'm surprised that anything stays on you in one of your crashes! :p

Tried to launch the boat yesterday but the trailer justsat on top of the ice!
