I had the most amazing thing happen today. Let me begin by saying that I met a guy at the gas station on the way to our normal Thursday ski set on a private lake. Turns out he lives on a private ski lake 10 minutes from my house and we hooked up and became ski buds. The slalom course on the lake needed some corrections and myself and one of my friends (both of us are actively involved in USA Waterski and certified boat drivers) created a Saturday workday for our ski group to repair the course and get it up to tournament standards.

We brought it before the HOA on the lake and they were ecstatic to have us involved. That said, I headed off to the Lowe's in Altamonte on 434 to pick up what we needed to make the course tournament legal. While I was there, a store clerk was helping me out getting everything together. As we were kneeled at one of the displays sorting everything out, someone put their hand on my left shoulder and said "I don't mean to intrude, but you said you were working on a slalom course and I thought I might be able to help you out". I welcomed his assistance and we got everything necessary to make our Sat workday come together.

Once we were finished, the gentleman introduced himself to me and lo and behold, he was a business associate of Chris Parrish! I left Lowe's totally amazed. I meet people in the strangest of places. He left me a card and some of you know we were discussing having a slalom clinic last year but it didn't quite come together. But odds are this year we will host a clinic and this helped lay the groundwork for that to happen. Already this has been quite a year for me and it has just begun!!!!

Odds are the Sat workday will turn into a big neighborhood thing. There are some die-hard skiers on the lake and they are looking forward to meeting our ski group. I hope to meet a few more avid skiers and have a little fun once we finish legalizing the course.
