Anyone know of any exercises to strengthen the knees and ligaments . -the pounding and twisting crashes make mine ache the day after and there are many pros that have had numerous knee surgeries-does anyone wear a knee brace?do they help?

Mountain biking regularly has really helped my legs and especially the knees. Another method is weights on the shoulder and knee bends.

Do single legged squats on a box. It will force the smaller muscles in you hips and knees, as well as the connective tissues to stabilize, called proprioception. This will increase the stability of the joint. Lunges are great too. Add plyometrics for explosive power, joint stability in landing, and the ability to decelerate your mass.
