Anyone out there have any idea how many skiers you can safely put on a pylon (for short period of time). I am running a 99 Mobius.

I have had 3 hooked to mine but they were all under 170 lbs and all 3 were just riding. No one was really trying to cut.

ever since this topic was first posted, I have been trying to find an article I read about the world's record of number of people water skiing at one time.

If I'm not mistaken, three boats pulled 51 skiers out of the water and got them up skiing. Three verrrrrrrrry long handled ski ropes were used.

So Dave, how many skiers you got?

My 2003 Outback (forward pylon) has pulled four adult slalom skiers from a deep water start.

We were kind of hoping for 10. Mostly teenagers, not very heavy, probably on two skis or wakeboards. Friend last year had 6 on his aftermarket tripod style pylon for his outboard. So I figured I could do more, but hate to rip the pylon out of the boat.....

Dave,

The obvous question is why not distribute them across the other tie points as well to limit the amount of weight being leveraged on the top of that skylon.

And, where's the video of the event????

Well we did not go to 10. Good point about using other tie points. I suppose I could have used a few on the rear hook.

We practiced with 8 but had some difficulty getting the skiers to spread out enough to be safe. So we settled for 7. Pulled with not problems. All skiers were on 2 skis (one was on jumpers) Mostly teenagers and one oldster (only by the calendar).

It was a great time. We may have video but will likely be a couple of weeks...
