Long time lurker, first time poster....

In the market for a 2004 Mobius LS...what questions would you ask the seller in advance of actually seeing the boat? What would the main things you would look for when you actually saw the boat.

Boat I am looking at has about 125 hours or so....

Thanks in advance and appreciate the help.

"How often has the impeller been changed?" (engine condition and general care)

"Ever run in salt or brackish water?" (corrosion)

"Do you have teenagers that take the boat out?" (engine / running gear condition)

"Ever been grounded?" (Prop condition)

'Where is it stored?" (vinyl/carpet condition)

"Have any more pictures?"

etc.

Hope this helps,

Joe

The "teenager" question is a big one. Before I bought my current boat, I asked an owner of a boat I was interested in to send me additional pics of his boat. The ones he sent were of his teenage son and all his buddies in the boat. The photo's revealed the seats were in bad shape and I would have to say the owner left it up to his son to look after it. The boat was only 3 years old. I think you can tell alot about a boat's mechanical condition by its cosmetic condition.
