winshield frame

[98outback]

On my 98 outback what is the window frame made of? Is it aluminum or steel? I would like to remove it and repaint it as the paint is flaking off. Thanks

If it is a 98 and you see no rust, it is probably aluminum (pretty sure it is)

put a magnet on the frame. If you feel a pull, the material is some type of steel.
(or its an ex trying to steal your magnet)
