OK, so I got my 1st wake surf board for fathers day, a very wicked Walker Project X5, yellow to match my boat with some very cool flames on the bottom.

Now here are my questions.

1. I will be right foot forward, what is that called?
2. Do I start on the drivers side or passenger side the easiest?
3. Do you start pulling into the wake or away from the wake?
4. Do you start by semi standing on the board under water, or is it like a wakeboard?

I need this much to start I think. I get the forward rearward pressure idea, but really need to know the starting basics. PS how should the driver start the pull? I know that my speed should be between 8 and 11 mph. and is a 15ft rope good to start, I ask because the sell sectioned wake surf ropes and this is kind of confusing to me seeing as your not supposed to need a rope.

Thanks for the help guys

1 right foot forward is goofy footed left forward is regular

2 For you it should be easier to surf on the right side of the wake so weight that side of the boat. For the getting up part I start in the middle of the wake and cut out to the side I surf on right away.

3. I start pulling out from the wake and then work on getting settled into the surf pocket with the rope in hand get the feel for what the board does when you lean forward or back on it eventually you will surf ropeless

4. I start with my heals on the board where they would be surfing also with the board floating flat on the water then tell the driver to go push down on my heals a bit the board will flip up and you get up like a wakeboard

Some of my friends have me put the boat in gear and get their feet in place like a wakeboard then say go when their ready Its a personal preferance

as far as the boat I will pop a surfer up about the same as a boarder and the rope is just to get up and for when your learning eventually you will be able to surf without the rope
