View Full Version : Running Buddies
We have talked about running with our dogs before, so I got Little Man Z to take pictures of Juneau, Courage and me at the end of our run today. We ran 6 miles! Yay! I use one of Mike’s belts cause it will fit low on my hips.be Then I tie two leashes to it. We are a sight! We get a lot of laughs from others while we are out there running. Today Mike said he wanted his belt back. I may need to look into running belts or something with a leash already attached.
Your turn, Mrs. Daze. Get Moombadaze or LittleDaze out there and take pics of you and Dakota. Then share them with us.... Who else has group runs out there?

MrsZ - I think that is cool! Thanks to Little Man Z for the pictures. So the dogs run non-stop for the entire six miles? I know people do this stuff all day long, but never gave any thought to the distance a dog can run. How do you keep them from getting under foot when running.? Did thy take to this naturally or you trained them? - Deerfield

I don't know that I need my picture out there, but Dakota is sure photogenic. Very cool pictures. I'm sure you guys do get a lot of attention. I still can't believe that Courage can run that far with you and Juneau! Way to go, six miles:) I've been trying to talk myself into doing the 5-mile route I did last weekend. I guess I just need to go do it. I always love it once I get going.
I've been wanting to get a handsfree leash. I saw one out there called "the Buddy system" that looked pretty cool. Dakota has been limping a little lately so I haven't been bringing him.
Hey Deerfield! We all took a little training to get in the groove of running together. They each have a side they prefer to run on and once we figured that out, it was easier. The crossing up would make me trip every time! They do run the entire way but the little one would stop every 50 feet if I let him! He seems to have an endless supply of "doggie nuggets". I am just glad the German Shepherd is not like that. :)
Mrs.Daze, I looked up the Buddy System and that looks like just what I am looking for...Thanks! It is like what I made only better. I am going to order the reflective one (with the extra buddy). The cheapest I could find for the reflective one it is at...sitstay.com. That name cracks me up!

Right now Mrs.Daze is out on the eliptical getting a work out. Hopefully Dakota is allmost healed up-have no idea what the heck happened to him but he would put no weight on his left rear leg and would just hoble around and when he would get up from laying down would wimper. Frustrating when you dont know whats wrong with amember of the pack.
I am Miss Fancy Pants now. Just got "The Buddy System" with the "Extra Buddy". It is so nice! The dogs got excited just seeing it! How do they know what it is for??
Dazes, I am sorry about Dakota! I hope he gets better soon.

Wow, that was fast. Did you order it directly from their website? Have you broken it in yet (probably too cold to right now)?
Dakota seems OK now but this is the second time that's happened.

I know, I know. He's quite the daredevil but rather clumsy:)
That's funny. M and I did have a dog, Max that liked to kneeboard with me! He was a trip.
