So here is a little braging to add to the Moomba Families from a proud Moomba Dad.

My oldest son won the Wisconsin State Tae Know Do championships for 10 and under color belts. For this he was invited to the State team to go to USA Nationals, this year held in Fort Lauderdale FL. If he wins there he will go to the Jr Olympics.

Training has now stepped up from 3 days a week with 2 classes on Wednesday to 4 days a week and a whole ton of Tournaments to keep him in fighting form. To date, over 3 years of tournaments, he has never been beat in Points sparring! The kid's a beast.

This picture of Little Sled with proud father will have to suffice until Sled Sr can figure out how to take an action photo.

Congrats to Little Sled!

Congrats Sled, that's awesome. I've got a 9 year old Black Belt in the house too. He loves it. We're in trouble when these guys get a little bigger. :)

Good luck at Nationals!

This is easy. Keep growing my company, make more money, hire some one to do the lawn and try to say on his good side

You'll still hold the purse strings . . . and the keys.

Actually, he came to his mother and I a few weeks ago and told us how much he appreciates all he has and all he gets to do. He said when he goes back to school on a Monday, or after a holiday break, the kids in his class tell him how lucky he is when he tells them his stories of what he did or where he went. They either don't have this or don't get to do that. Finally, I guess it sunk in. His mother almost cried she was so happy that he showed this kind of maturity at age 9.

So my point is, I think I'll be OK as he gets older and can kick my a@#! :)

Don't have any teenagers yet, do you? My Dad used to say that when they hit 13 they slow down to half speed and go deaf. I've got one almost 15 who was just the way you describe yours a few years ago. I expect we'll get her back when she's 25. Till then we do our best. It's a natural process though. You just always have to let 'em know you love 'em and have their back.

Why you have to burst my bubble like that:( I thought I had a good one! I know, I know the teen years are ahead and the pleasure of raising 3 little ones will pale in comparison to the joy three teenagers will bring me...right?

I'm not bursting your bubble. When you get those moments in the teen years they count 10X as much.

Dude, you know how much I'm away from my family. Every moment that is positive with them is worth there weight in gold to me. This is one reason why I'm such a big fan of boating and water sports, it's something we all love and more importantly it is something we all love to do together. Especially since we bought our beautiful Moomba with Perfect Pass :)

No, Nationals are in late June. This weekend there is a big regional tournament in Beloit, but just as exciting is that my middle son will go into his first local tournament. So the wife goes one way with one and I go another way with the other.

Had some moments with daughter #2 the past couple days. She's in 5th grade and went all week to cheerleading tryouts to learn routines and cheers for the final tryout last Fri. She nailed it and made cheerleading for 6th grade next year. On the way home she was so pumped and shocked. She said, "I can't believe I'm a real cheerleader, not just dressing up like one and pretending." (which she has done for years) Then last night during softball she caught a flyball at shortstop and tagged out the runner who didn't tag up on her way to 3rd. It was her (and her team's) first double play. Pretty cool for Coach Dad. She did a cartwheel on her way off the field -- and I'm sure she's never even heard of Ozzie Smith.

Kids are amazing. My middle son went in his first real tournament yesterday. He is much smaller than his older brother and to be honest his interest in TKD has been minimal. To get ready for this tournament he went to extra classes and really stepped it up. Result, 1st place forms, 2nd place sparring, 3rd place board breaking. I'm just thrilled:)

I can't even begin, and if I did you'd never get me to shut up. You'd be thinking man doesn't this guy ever shut up, every dad thinks his kids are the best!
