Dang I do not know If i like this math.
I want to say I had an avg pump price of $4.09/gal X 5.2 gal/h X ~75 = $ $1595.10
Now with truck gas and camping lets just put that at another 1k so $2600 for that and no boat payment to add in but storage so lets just jump to 3K
Now the amount of fun I had this summer on the boat with friends is about 15K so I am net gain of 12K. Shoot that is a nice little savings to put to a new boat or a lake house.
I forgot to say about 3K of fun was at the Moomba jam watching Mike Jump/Fall off the back of his boat with his truck keys.
It was a fall, i was steping onto the doc and at the same time Steve put it in gear to pull away, so i was stuck 1 foot on the boat and one on the doc. The lake won.

Its WAY cheaper than therapy...
You struck a cord there. Don't even want to admit how many times I can be found sitting in the boat, beer in hand, 45 degrees and raining out (under carport thingy), daydreaming of the upcoming season while drowning away the worries of the day...
Way better than $150 an hour in some padded chair with Dr Do-better!
We call that driveway / garage boating. We do it quite a bit ourselves.
You USA guys don't know how lucky you are!!!
We pay an average of $10 per gallon for gas........makes me want to cry!
We have had the worst summer in 100 years here in the UK, so no sunshine at all since summer 2011.
Towed my Mobius 1600 miles to the south of France for 2 weeks of boarding just to get some sun!
Done 150 hours this year, just put her away to storage....
Thats about 25 days on the boat, at about 1875 litres for the season = $4200.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish i lived in the USA, better weather and cheaper gas = happy boat owner!!!
Count your lucky stars!
(no wonder i can't afford an upgrade!)
We do have it good... but one thing we don't have is cool town names like Tewkesbury! Nor do we have a Jeremy Clarkson! :)
