So I've narowed the play or backlash to the fitting off of the strut through bolts that clamp the steering cable down. I've tightened them down with no change in the backlash at the steering wheel....

I retraced all of the wiring and everything looks good. It still make the noise, only when the engine is running or when I first turn the key on. Any other suggestions?

I have a 2011 LSV with the same issue. Hopefully changing the HU wiring will eliminate the hum. It drives me nuts!!!!

Have you tried resetting PerfectPass. Check your owner's manual on how to do it. I was having trouble with mine and did a reset and it seemed to fix it.
