I've got a '98 Outback that has a rear seat that's held down by 2 rubber tie down connectors.
Here's a pic of the connector:

I used an external battery to test in the same manner. I found out that the oil pressure switch only connects once it reaches 4psi per the Indmar service manual. Once I isolated the fuel pump, I...

Turned out to be the starter solenoid, the secondary solenoid and 50amp breaker. In addition, had several wires that were corroded and starting to fall apart and needed to clean and re-seat the...

I ended up checking the electrical at the pump and found nothing when key was in run position but had voltage in start position. I also used a siphoning pump to try to pull fuel through the fuel...

I'm experiencing a problem when the boat sat all winter and when I picked it up from storage it had no gas in the tank. Now I can't get it started. Doesn't get an fuel to the carbs. I don't know if...

Well, the breaker decided to fall apart. Will replace that now.
I jumped the breaker just to try to get the dash lit up but no luck there. Since I can't find a wiring diagram, I'm creating one...

Great pics and story. I was wondering if you could provide me a rough idea of how much it cost to reupholster the interior? Just a ballpark figure would be great. I need to do the same...

Breaker tested fine. Secondary solenoid failed to test. New one appears to be working. Now just need to get the dash working.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Tried that but haven't tested it to see if the circuit is good yet. Will try that tonight.
Thanks for the suggestion/reminder.

2014. Worked great up till last day of last season, then started hearing just a 'click' when I'd go to try to start it.

Hi everyone. I'm in the process of troubleshooting my '98 Outback. It wouldn't start this year. I made sure the battery was charged but got a "click" instead of the motor turning over. I'm pretty...

I checked. Mine are welded on so no removing them. I think I've figured out a way to back it off the trailer 6" and I'll be good. But thanks for the suggestion.
When you say you took it all out yourself and got it done for $1000, what was the difference between that and the 2 local shops quotes? Did you do the carpet yourself?

They come off?!? Lmao! I can't believe I didn't check to see if they did. That's funny (embarrassing). Now if the guides came off too, I'd be set. I'm sure I can move the boat back a little to...

Hey there. I was admiring your work as I prepare to go much of the same on my 98 Outback. I'm going to start with some gelcoat oxidation fixes. Just curious, when you did your initial wet sanding...
I've got a 98 outback as well but I don't have the bench platform in the forward seating area that straddles the port and starboard benches. Was that an option for the outback or did you add that...
Thanks, Kaneboats. And if I end up with scratch marks like this? :( (yeah, I tried a coarser paper ...)
Very nice! I have the same boat, '98 Outback. I'm just starting a restoration and was working the gelcoat. In my case, the original decals were removed by the previous owner, similar to what you...
Any tips on the 'buy a sewing machine and figure it out'? I'm just about to undertake a similar project for both vinyl and carpet. Where'd you buy material from?
