If you are running the 200.2 bridged into two speakers wired in parallel, you are loading each amp channel down to only 1-ohm. I am really surprised you are not putting the amp into protection...

The simple answer is: Yup. :)
We do a few things different with the KXM line to improve the amps for use in a marine environment. Sealed inputs and connections, a gasket-sealed door...

The horns do not use the enclosed air in the can as a compliant element, so it would be fine to leave the poly out and not change the sound of the horn. If you want to be really anal, go ahead and...

One will have a hard time bonding HDPE... Precision will definitely be your friend. Still, you work with the stuff, so you probably know what adhesives will work?
I might recommend that butyl...
OH yeah, that 6-volt AM tube radio. I got to rework that thing a few years ago. We installed a 12-volt alternator and battery to run modern gear. I then used an FM to AM modulator so I could get...
You saying I am old?????
What is the bass tone control set at? Is the loudness feature, (if the radio has it) turned on or off?
Most of the time, popping speakers in a head-power-only setup is due to tone controls that...
Also, be sure to make sure crossover FREQUENCY is set properly.
For the towers, something around 100, (or higher, probably not lower) is about right. For the in-boats, something around 60, (or...

You really cannot change the laws of physics, regardless of brands. Sound behaves in a pretty consistent manner. Sound comes off both sides of a speaker cone, and in a can or other enclosure the...

Ahhh, the age-old question... What do you replace your stock speakers with.....
It is as if somehow universally, stock speakers are bad or somehow substandard. I understand this thought process,...

^^^^what David said^^^^
You probably don't realize it but you diagnosed your problem in all likelihood. The head unit is at a different voltage potential than the amp. See bold part of your post above.
Move head unit...
Yeah, the clipping was EITHER coming from the radio behaving badly at full volume OR the amp gains were too high.
Good luck! I will check back later tomorrow so post up your results. Happy to...
BTW, your radio will almost never be turned all the way up, unless you are playing a low amplitude, (low volume) song. Very few head units work at 100% volume without clipping on normal music.
Head unit: tone controls flat, no boost or cut. Loudness OFF. Volume set to 75% of max.
ZXM-RLC: Both controls maxed out.
Amps: start with gain all the way down and slowly go up.
I am surprised that you are considering something else. My experience with the M60Ui has been quite good, and I had three of them in three different boats at one point. I still have an M60Ui in my...

My best means of testing a start cap on a 110 electric motor was to replace it. They are relatively cheap. If the motor runs after replacing the cap, the old cap must be bad. If the motor doesn't...
No new models, (of this item) in the works.
It is current and there is no reason to change it. Go with whoever and guy it.

You took my long-winded textbook and basically condensed it to two sentences.
You are absolutely correct.

I absolutely agree that it should not be the only or final selection for tuning. One has so many other things to set, crossovers, phase, etc. You CAN'T hear those subtleties if you have...

I'm not flaming on Nickleback fans... I own two of their CDs!
I simply recommend Nickkeback to fans and flamers alike for setting unity gains on your audio...

I think that the use of Nickleback comes from my recommendation, due to the fact that Nickleback does a heavy amplitude compression algorhythm on their recordings. Every sound is about as loud as it...
If everyone around you is running Wetsounds and you want something different look at a Kicker KM 6500.2/KM6500 6-pack on a pair of KXM400.4 amps.
The Kicker horn is not poked through a giant hole...
