Cutout under driver's seat? 2008 XLV

On my XLV that hole has a plastic plate/cover. No cool function like the Supra drawer.

    XLV Keel Hump

They call it a drop keel. I think it helps with handling chop.

    XLV Ghetto Gate

I do run faster with the gate. I like 11-11.5 w the gate. Try draining a little more from the opposite vdrive locker than surf side.

Moved my ballast pumps. 4th pump is an auxiliary hose to fill bags anywhere in the boat. In the process I gained the back 8-10
Inches of my locker back. All wires were long enough and did not have...

Acme 537 vs 1257 on an XLV

1235 or 2079 if you really want to go heavy and have trailer and hull clearance.

I have the 2079 and love it!

    XLV Ghetto Gate

Just visit and checking for signs of stress. No concerns so far but I guess it is some degree of risk.

    XLV Ghetto Gate

With ghetto gate - 1180 playpen bag full, both vdrive 900s full, 400lbs of lead in surf corner, 900 on floor when I am light on crew. Sometimes a 540 partially filled (maybe 200 lbs) on top of the...

Towing Tubes or Slalom with a V-drive

The pylon has to be close to the strongest part of the boat. I tow tubes from the pylon. As Berg mentioned the rope stays off the vinyl as soon as throttle is applied.

    XLV Ghetto Gate

Only difference would be that the horizontal material would be cut shorter to correctly fit from the edge of the platform to the corner of the hull.

Assuming the platform is slightly narrower than...

Mine is 24 inches. Simply because the HDPE sheet was 24 inches.

I have not experimented with differing lengths so I can't say for sure. I can tell you that The pocket is plenty long with my...

Normal. Spray some water on the bearing in the strut and it should move easier. Of course, neutral selected.

  23. The basics of Surf Systems (and platform modifications)

Would certainly work on most boats. Wish the XLV was not so curvy. A swim noodle would not fill the gaps.http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/25/a281e75e6cc7e13734df441b59fca17d.jpg

My idea was exactly the same as your first statement. Blade 2x wide as flipped mirror image of hull with platform mount in the center.
  25. The basics of Surf Systems (and platform modifications)

Would work if the gate was really tall or transom was flat. Would have to do something like this for the blade on the XLV since there are some complex...
