I picked up a new F-150 Platinum Ecoboost (with max tow package) this past June after having an Avalanche LTZ. I read all the reviews and specs on the towing capacity etc, but never did test drive it...
Where do I find this on my 2008 Outback DD ? I usually keep my boat in the water for 3 weeks straight and it has always been in the back of my mind should it fail. Paranoid ?

So this thread makes me nervous as all hell.
I moor my 2008 Outback while on vacation for 3 weeks. Of course I see it and use it daily but of course not through the night. I can't imagine waking up...
Well all I can say is "why did I not do this sooner?"
From the moment I turned the key, put her in gear, and heard the sweet growl of that Indmar 340 EXT I was hooked.
Even though the season here...
I switched my OJ 13x13 to an Acme 13 x 11.5 after only two trips out with my boat. What a difference.:)
Thnaks everyone for the tips and pics. I have a rule aerator style. I disconnected it from the valve fitting and turned it on to see if the impellor was spinning and yes. I left the switch on and...
Never really considered what powering on could do to a launch until reading the above thread, although the launch I use sucks pretty bad anyways.
But now that I have the trailer position dialed in...
Well tonight was a success at the launch. With the fenders just showing I brought it up then powered her up to within inches of the stop and tightened it up.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
Thanks Deerfield...I will take any help I can get.
I flick the switch...pump noise for a few seconds .....then nothing.
I will have to check....new to this whole ballast thing.
New to this whole inboard thing actually. :)
I am guessing it is the latter as I appear to have one pump in the bilge area and I can hear a...
My pump stops on it's own after a few seconds.
First off....love the info on this forum. Hope you all don't get tired of all my questions.
Anyway, I have the ballast in my 08 Outback and when I hit the switch I can hear it run for a few seconds...
Thats what I heard as well, but I am not sure where to buy ethanol free gasoline.
I have not had my boat long enough to experience this problem, but the previous owner told me he had it and just...
It is the public launch at the north end of Pine Lake.
Just not finding a seemless way to load yet.
I will maybe look at the bunks.
I have not even consdiered if it is dropping hard off the bow...
Well another somewhat frustrating experience last night (compared to my old boat) but it seems that having the fenders slightly above the surface is the only way, at least on the launch I use. If the...
Thanks all. I was hoping it wasn't just me.
Guess I just need to dial in a system.
At the risk of sounding pathetic, any tips on loading ?
I have an 2008 Outback DD with a tandem boatmate trailer.
I have launched and loaded my previous boat ( a i/o runabout) without fail.
I will crawl under and try and get some photos when the weather and work cooperate. Speaking with a fiberglass shop yesterday the guy said it did not sound like any sort of emergency, but something...
So I just bought my 2008 Outback in April and have only had time to get it out twice thanks to work and weather. So far..love it.
Now today after crawling under to wax it for the...
LOL.....It is a short season, but we hit interior British Columbia for 3 weeks each year with the boat and it is HOT HOT HOT. :D
We are just outside Red Deer, Alberta.
Thanks for the welcomes. I will get pics up when I get some.....likely next week.:)
Thanks for the welcome.
I have to pick the boat up, but when I do then I will get a pic or two.
I have yet to drive it ( yes, bought it without water test as it is winterized and it was not going...
New to the forum and new to the Moomba family.
In fact this is my first inboard boat.
We have had 2 previous boats, both runabouts that treated us well, but I have longed for an inboard...
