Got some more work on the stereo done today. Got so many things going on in the garage i havnt had time to do this, but the 72 sunny day we had on Saturday really kicked me into over drive to get this done LOL.

Today i mounted the new racks, test fit all my amps, then mounted the power distribution block. I was able to then measure and drill for all my power and ground wires.

What you will see is several holes into the air intake for the boat. I plan to run all my power lines threw here so i can get them to the distribution block and have a clean fairly wireless look. The speaker lines will be wireless looking same as my last amp racks where. Tomorrow the plan is to remove the racks clean all the fiberglass up, then remount everything again and run all the wires in place.

Looking good! Too funny, I was going to do the exact same thing with the distribution block! Decided to go a different route.

Yea Razz i wanted to see the read out and ive been going over it and over it in my mind for weeks whether to drill or not. Yesterday i just took the plunge and said just doo itttt. When its all said and done i hope i don't regret it. So fare i haven't regretted anything ive done on the boat but this does make it a lot more permanent as an upgrade. Although i do have some extra carpet and could always re-carpet that box lol.

I was going to steel your idea on the standoff for mounting the amps, having the studs basically, but my rack goes to fare be-hide the observers seat and i couldn't get the amp over the studs to make it fit.

This may be a dumb question so forgive me in advance. I have seen how Razz glued his stringers to the side of his hull and then is going to mount is racks to the stringers but it appears you have not done this.

How did you fix these racks without drilling through your hull?

RD yes this is just an air intake and there's another on the drivers side. It acts more or less like a ram air system system as the boat speeds up it forces more air into the rear of the boat. In actuality you only need 1 side to effectively supply air to the boat. What i plan to do it with the wires tucked in that area i will reconnect the air tube and it will still operate as normal.

Canuckle. Yes i never actually thought to mount the amps the way Razz did, wish i would have because it would prolly be a lot easier and less stressful. What i have done is when you pull the carpet back on the inside you can see the center of the boat where the rub rail is screwed into the boat. I mounted a block here to make a large mounting surface. Then i attached the top of my rack to that. Then on the bottom of the hull at the floor there is a 1inch high rib that i screwed the bottom mounting screws into.

Top of the rack where it meets the rub rail

Bottom where the rib is at the floor.

Thanks for that Mike. I have to make a decision as to the best way to mount my amps and you just made that decision much, much easier. I think I will be copying the Razzman solution.
