Hey guys now that we have the off topic section I figured it's time to get your brew on- better start thinking about those robust dark beers in order to give them ample time to season before winter. My amarillo honey IPA turned out so good I just ordered ingredients for my smoked honey porter- this will be different than anything I've brewed before but I'm hoping it will keep me warm while I'm sitting around next January dreaming about the moomba.
Here's the run down-
6# Northern Brewer dark LME
1# Northern Brewer dark DME
2# Weyermann cherrywood smoked malt
1/2 # simpson's dary crystal malt
1/2# simpson's chocolate malt
2# clover honey
2 oz Cluster pellet hops bittering
1/2 oz columbus pellet hops bittering
1 oz cascade pellet hops aroma
Ringwood ale yeast activator
Who else is brewing out there and whatcha brewing?

did the brewing thing once many many years ago. there was a shop here that did it for $90 a brew. you would go in and make the mix, they fermented it in house, then when it was done, you went back and bottled. I got 6 12pks out of it, and the bottles were 16oz. beer was around 9.5%. real good...

My li'l brother has a talent for home brewing. Makes it by the soft drink keg. Great stuff from lemony summer brews to porters and chocolate stouts.
You TX guys know all about Shiner Bock and it is available all over FL now but we can't always get the Shiner Black Lager. Mmmmmmmmm! That's one to try if you never have.My Mom said I'm not allowed to get wet!

I made a few batches of IPA a couple of years ago when the Iowa high gravity beer laws were weird. All the good IPAs had to be imported from neighboring states which was a real pain. It was fun and they turned out great! Now I can buy all the good ones again so I've lost the motivation. Maybe later this summer I'll get ambitious again.
