It's not needed but if you have two batteries you might as well get the switch otherwise you won't be able to use the two batteries independantly.

I love the perko switch. I've never needed it but it was close once just the other day. Daughter #2, my boat cleaner, will jam tunes in the garage while she scrubs and polishes. She also likes to sit in the boat and do homework. The other day I barely had battery to start in the driveway before we left for the ramp. I always fire in the driveway before running 40 min. to the ramp. I could easily have switched over right there but wanted to start if possible and charge the low one.

Thanks! The rest of them like the boat but that one "gets it". Don't know what boys are in her future but they will have to pass the boat test with her or they will definitely flunk.

Lsvboombox, I board in the Delaware river out of bordentown which is central jersey. Hopatcong and greenwood are up north a considerable ways from me and my crew. I am friends with ryan sorenson who runs Hopatcong marine though. We go to his north vs. south tourney every year.

That mod isn't too bad. Just go to the junk yard and get you a set of headlights (that's what I'm going to do anyway)....pop them in the oven....pull them apart....paint....dry....put them back together...back in the oven for a bit and then a couple of hours on a cooling rack and you're golden!
