I meant to post these with the others of the tear down but he's some closer shots of what the inside looked like. Granted I have already cut the mounting "plates" or "pads" out of the transom here.

In pics 2 and 4 you can see the outline of where the PO added the steel plate to reinforce just the lower holes. This obviously did not work. The right side had the same plate but you just cannot see a rust outline.
