Thanks guys. To those thinking the extra freeboard above the rail looks awkward.. Wait till you see it in the water. It looks sick!

So it is confirmed... Stock ballast makes a surfable wake. I also had two adults on the surf side, but it was nice.

Nate, congrats on the new boat! She sounds like a beauty! I just wanted to comment on the above. I think the ability to surf ropeless has alot more to do with the rider than the boat. I say this because I have surfed ropeless behind my 2006 LSV with no ballast and just three people on the boat (the wife and two kids). It was an experiment - see the thread below. And my normal surf set up is a 750 in the rear locker and a 400 in the center locker which we can easily surf ropeless. Since the 2013 LSV is the same hull with a taller and heavier top deck, I am not surprised to hear that it throws a surfable wave with the stock 650 rear bag based on my experience with my 2006.

I agree completely about the skill. I am coming from an 08 XLV GG and found the surf wake to be a huge bonus when I switched to the LSV. I pulled people who have been surfing for years with the XLV and stock ballast, and none could ride the wake. Most of my friends including me, could surf my old boat with an extra sac.

My buddy who has tried countless times behind my XLV never could surf ropeless. He did within two minutes behind my LSV and rode for about 3-4 minutes.

Sorry I couldnt get the whole boat in the shot. I only brought my 70-200mm lens for wakeboarding shots..
