I have a 14 X 18 1/2 prop on my 04 XLV. It is nice and smooth, but a little slow out of the hole. It is slow to pull some of my heavier riders up (300 lbs.), but great if you are only pulling a 200 pound rider.
What is the average size prop your other riders are using? I was thinking about going to a 13 or 14 pitch prop. Any comments to help me decide? I don't want to pull the trigger on a $400 prop without some advice, and later wish I hadn't.
It may be cheaper to just put a few of my large cornfeed friends on some diets.
Thanks in advance,
