New water impeller

Quick question. I have heard that the impeller needs to be installed in the correct position but have never found any definite answer to this. So which end goes in first. The side that just says Johnson or the end with the dots? Or does it matter?

I think it's talking about which way the fins flex. When the impeller is installed in the housing the fins are bent. They need to be bent according to which way the pump turns.

Doesn't matter, when the pump turns the fins will automatically setup the correct direction..

I did not receive any glycerine with mine. It came in a box with a gasket. I ordered it from skidim. Can I just put dish washing soap on it?

I use anti-sieze compound on the shaft. Petroleum can damage the rubber if left on for a while.
