We felt brave when we rode in just heater tops the weekend after thanksgiving this year. Water was in the mid 60s I believe and felt plenty cold.
Then after we saw three big lizards it became that much harder to get into!
Our local club made it out this weekend for a camping trip. 52 degree water temp

Got the wintertime blues?
That was my first time on any skim style board so I can't comment too much on the Comp x, it felt real loose but I guess that is the design. When I found a decent location for my rear foot it felt like it was speedy enough for me.
The Nitro was much better for me after I removed the rear center fin. It seemed to be forgiving for me when I put heavy front foot pressure on the board (not pearling).
I still need a few more pulls to get used to the boards but my first impression is that I want to ride them again. I don't feel that way about a couple of boards that I have.
It was also very awkward to surf with the drysuit and thick under layers. I was trying to adjust to that as well.2010 Moomba XLV

In general I think they were both too short for my big arse. The skim was a wild ride for sure - be fun in the summer to do some spins and play when you're less worried about dunking. Felt way loose.
The Nitro carved like a wakeboard at first - before the center fin came out. Didn't ride it again after that. I could see Boon pulling some nice airs with it and after a little more riding time even bigger airs I'm sure.
I still want a TripleX (or 2) of my own, just need a bigger board.2001 MobiusV
