Here in the next couple weeks I will be adding a binimi to the boat(no tower), I have read all I can find on here and the rest of the internet about how to do it. I have a couple more questions if someone who has done this before can add some input. Ive read to tape it off with blue painters tape, drill holes in reverse, do a smaller pilot hole first. Sound about right so far?
Now after the holes are drilled do I need to add silicon or a pad of some sort so water doesnt get into the holes? Also is there a particular type of bit that I should use or will just a new sharp bit due?
If I am missing anything or any advice I will gladly take it as I am not excited about drilling into the boat, excited about the addition just not the holes..haha

I would recommend sanding around the edges of the holes at a 45 degree angle to reduce the chance of spider cracks.

Curious what kind of tower? That may help to direct any more specific advice regarding padding/feet, support bracing, etc.

I was gonna try and build a T top canopy for my tower next weekend and save about 600$.
Has anyone ever had any success in doing this? Im going to try and make it strong enough to hold boards and what ever else I wanna put up there.
I googled diy canopy's but not much came up.....
