We used to have a stretch of beach on the river here that went out about 5ft to waste deep then dropped off to 20ft in the next 5-10ft. Great place to anchor up - would also be a possible spot to try that but you'd have to go midweek when it's empty or be prepared to get shot at.

Yea, musta been low tide and there has to be a signficant drop off. Not using my boat for that one.
