I had removed the set screw it was just on there for so long I think it was a pain to get off.......But I got it!!!!!

After pulling the V drive there is a bunch of room...lol

Made my own gasket with a roll of material....it is a little bit thicker but that shouldn't be an issue....RIGHT???
My shaft and v drive plate are about 1/4 of an inch offset to the left so I am going to try and realign my engine.....Did I ever mention I'm not a mechanic....lol

How bad is pulling the v-drive on these things? I looked at doing that a few years back to replace the strut bushings, but ended up pulling the shaft out of the back of the boat. No issues really, just a bit of a pain with such tight quarters to work in.

A dealer mechanic told me once it's easier to pull the v-drive than to loosen everything to get it out the back past the rudder. I had to loosen my strut to get enough clearance to slide it out the back.

Kane, did you have to re-align your strut after you loosened it? When I pulled my prop shaft, I debated whether or not to loosen the strut. I was really hesitant and didn't end up having to in the end.

    Default Prop shaft coupler bolt????

If the strut is loosened it is likely to have move enough to warrant an alignment.

I don't know how to re-align a strut. But, after I put mine back tight I had to re-align the engine. But that was after a shaft replacement and you'd have to do it anyway. Nice n straight now.
