I am 47 and still try to rip it as much as I can. I have a 2008 Moomba Mobius LSV with 1100 lb sack on each side of the engine in the compartmens, 400 lb in the middle and 650 lb in the front if needed.
It has the standard prop that came with the boat when new. I'm not sure exactly the size. 4 blade.
I first off slalom several times until I'm burnt and then fill up one side for surfing for a few rounds.
I finish with a little wakeboarding with all sacks for maximum wake.
Main question is: Given the above, does the prop make a difference on the wake for surfing or wakeboarding?
Would an upgraded prop from the factory one help any? If so, which prop?
Thanks for any info.

I have the same boat and ballast as you and have upgraded to the acme 1847 and couldnt be happier... Its like a whole new boat...The hole shot is much improved when getting up esp for slalom and the prop just handles the weight better... I went w the 1847 bc its supposed to be a bit better on gas for long trips and as I have some... Other guys run the acme 1235... There are tons of threads discussing it...2008 LSV 1100s 650IBS Reversible Pumps w\Timers

I also have same boat and ballast setup and I like the 1433 best (same as the 1235 but slightly smaller diameter to clear your trailer.) It will run higher rpm when skiing but will be so much better for wakeboarding and surfing.
Next time you are wakeboarding you should try running less weight in the rear. Keep the rear bags half full or less (fill the front) and I think you'll be happier with the wake, boat handling, and fuel consumption.Dan

I've got a 2012 with the same weight. We did the 1617, and the difference is amazing. The whole ride is smoother.
When being pulled up on the board, the boat doesn't drag you through the water - you are instantly on top of it. We are very glad we switched.Matt

Prop has no real effect on the wake its self,
I ran the 1617 on my 08 LSV and it was worlds different then the factory wake board prop, essentially the 1235 but the OJ version.
With the 1617 my fuel consumption improved, hole shot was better and boat can still do 32 pretty easily for water ski purposes.
Also the best thing i found that with the 1617 i could run a lot more weight for surfing then i could with the standard wake board prop.Malo <--- Means--Evil or Mean One. This explains a lot.

I just ordered the Acme 1939 from wakeprops. Like you, I still use my boat for all types of skiing (slalom, wake board, surfing, etc) and based on the recommendation from Acme tech support and wakeprops I went w/ the 1939 prop. Seems to be a great all purpose prop. It's being delivered tomorrow and expect to test it out this weekend.2002 Moomba Outback LSV
