Hey guys. I will be deploying soon overseas. I don't want my boat to be sitting in the driveway not being used. My dad offered taking the boat and run it while I'm gone. He lives in League City, Texas. So the water is Brackish. So I wanted to know if this was a problem or not? What do you guys think?

I've seen a couple of inboards used in brackish water it will corrode your boat pretty quick. You are better off having him run boat on driveway hooked to fake a lake. The water will eat up the electrical connections, don't do it. It still has salt in it.

RCA lives in texas and uses his in brackish water.
Key is to rinse the engine down and flush it with water when your done.
Also it does require more maintenance like waxing and interior care so it doesn't look worn.
You always have the option to winterize it, get it shrunk wraped and store it long term indoors.

You will end up throwing your trailer away. Don't sink a steel trailer in brackish water. My Mom said I'm not allowed to get wet!

Brackish is saltwater but where the concentration is less than the ocean. Generally where the salinity of the ocean makes its way upstream into a river or sound.2010 Moomba XLV

don't go in brackish, unless you want to get a new trailer. I'd "winterize" it for long term storage--better optionHey, Its Moomba time
