    Yup, I did the research 2 years ago and that's all I've ever used. That is also about the only 15w-40 you can readily find around here.

    I am that friend Mike was talking about. Bottom line is this... I know a lot of guys are using the Rotella, but the service manager and sales guy is saying not to use it. However what they are saying to use doesn't meet the specs in the manual. Calling SC tomorrow to see what they say.

    I couldn't find the Pennzoil anywhere locally so just ordered it.

    I'm not sure the analysis for diesel engines in the articles would be the same for a gasoline marine engine.

    You need to check the certifications. Everyone using the high performance dirt bikes have gone to Rotella T and it is labeled for motorcycle use.
