Going to start teaching my kids to board this weekend (hopefully). A 90 pounder should be towed at??? I was imagining 12-15mph? I will be pulling up by hand in the yard Friday evening to get them used to the feeling. Any tips from you experienced dads?

I think 12-15mph is a good place to start. My 16 yr old daughter still doesn't like to go much above 16 but if your kids are "daredevils" they may want to go a bit faster. I would start slow and work your way up.

It's amazing how quickly most kids pop out of the water and at only 90 lbs I'm guessing they will be up in no time, especially if they are used to the water and experienced some other type of "pull" like skiing, kneeboarding, etc.

Ok good, will start there. Nothing but tubing so far. This is my effort to grow them out of tubing.

Just taught my 6 year old to board about 3 weeks ago. Started him on a surf rope at about 10 mph for a few pulls until he could pop right up and ride. Then switch to wake board rope at 50 ft at 12 mph. Started working him up to 13 where he rides now. I am amazed how far he has come in a 2 week period. He's already getting a few inches of air coming back over the wake.

If you ever get a wild hair and want to drive about an hour for a full calm lake, come down to Ennis at Bardwell Lake. Just don't tell anyone else from DFW!

Tim told me he was going out there last week to see you. We might have to consider this as well.

Yeah they cane Friday and Saturday. Had a blast. He said he tried Joe Pool on sunday and was ready to kill someone before the day was over. On Friday the 4th we may have had 10 boats on the entire lake and it was glass all day. Come see us.
