Need help to control tower speakers without blowing the inside boat. common problem.
Setup.
232mr hu 1 rca pre-out
1 6 channel jl amp
cabins on 1&2
towers on 3&4 with Pac lc1 control.
Sub on 5&6
bow on the Hu unit
Problem the towers get only as loud as the cabins. I can turn them up and down but can't exceed the cabins. therefore deaf boat riders.( i literally had the kids covering there ears, but the rider could not hear that well)
If i put the pac lc1 on channels 1&2, then the bow and the towers blast.
See if my solution is correct,
rewire bow speaker ala newtys diagram for 3 ohm, and either get another lc1 or move the lc1 to the cabins and switch the towers for on/off( don't want them running all the time.) or get an eq.
Thanks as always, you technoligically challenged moomba ownerr![]()

Simplist solution JM would be to just add another PAC LC-1. The reason is as you've found out you can increase the volume in increments. This way you could balance or eliminate music at will.

Razz, Thanks
but i thought i would get an answer like "Plug a into b and c into d and whamo all fixed"
I guess i will have to get another lc1

I would run the bow speakers off the deck and dedicate the tower speakers to channels 3&4.
You won't notice the difference in the bow. Just make sure you putting too much bass to them and you will be fine.
Put the first PAC-LC1 to your sub.
Add a second PAC-LC1 to your cabin and your golden.
I would consider an EQ instead, your going to have to run rca's all over anyway.Last edited by newty; 07-24-2009 at 03:48 PM.

second that eq if you only have one set of pre-outs and are trying to run a multi-channel system.. much more flexibility and if you get a good one, has gains to help balance the sound.

newty,
won't the bows blast as loud as the towers? BTW i have 80hz cut offs on the bow speakers maybe the clarion eq is the way to go.

Your deck cant be more than like 25 real watts. They shouldn't be near as loud as the towers. you can also fade the fronts down on the deck.

Thanks,
thats true fronts are 25 w and the amp is 75 per channel. i will try the fader I assume the fader does not effect the pre-outsA Day at the Lake...Priceless

Hey JM! Right now they are just lined up under the dash below the ignition switch pointing down. I mounted them to a piece of cutting board stock and mounted that to the dash. I put them in a order of need, tower/cabin/sub. Someday i'm going to dash mount them.
