Post Fuel pump issue

Need help! On my second fuel pump and I still cant seem to get the engine to run consistantly. Fuel pump is not feeding fuel into the carb.
It cycles good, but won't pull any fuel. Hitting it on the side with a wrench seems to work occasionally. Is it something else in the line? Air leak, bad fuel line? Do I need to install a check valve?
2005 Outback 310hp carb.

Are you sure its the pump? Have you checked the fuel pressure with a gauge? Does it happen all the time or just when its hot?
